Scott Springer - Pastor
Scott came to know Christ as a senior in high school, and shortly thereafter became lead singer for the Christian rock band Halo. Through this ministry, Scott helped forge a path for contemporary rock music to be used as a tool to reach students for Christ. Halo toured the U. S. and Canada and garnered four #1 songs on the Christian Rock charts. Scott also recorded a solo project called “Hello Forever” which allowed him to preach and sing his way to four #1 songs on CHR radio. Little did he know that God was setting him up for the next season of his life: youth ministry and leading a church!Scott served as student minister for the next 10 years, and then in the fall of 2003, New Life Community Church was planted in the Springer living room!

Scott has been married 30 years to Cam and has 3 children, Wesley, Jeremy, and Carly, all of whom are serving in some capacity in ministry.

Scott enjoys a pick-up game of basketball, playing the guitar, and classic rock music! His desire is to see New Life Community Church be the place where new life begins and to help people find and follow Jesus!

Brian Jones - Associate Pastor
Brian, a native of Clanton, became a follower of Jesus Christ one month before he turned 16 years old! Brian’s introduction to ministry came, as he served as a Youth intern under Scott Springer. Shortly thereafter, Brian sensed God’s call to the ministry and took a full time position as Youth Minister. For the next five years, Brian served at a church in Calera, AL. God, then, brought Brian back to Clanton, to New Life Community Church, to serve and reach out to his home community! During his tenure as Youth Minister, God has taught Brian many things about life, faith, and youth ministry! Brian’s heart is to teach and reach out to students, and equip them to reach their friends.

Brian graduated from Southeastern Bible College (Birmingham, AL) in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies, with an emphasis in Youth Ministry and Music. Through Brian’s love of music, God has blessed Brian with the ability to sing and play guitar! Brian serves as Praise & Worship leader for New Life, as he leads worship for his students on Wednesday nights and also leads worship for New Life’s Sunday morning service! While attending Southeastern Bible College, Brian met his beautiful wife Raquel and they were married in 2001! God has blessed them with four incredible children: three girls and a boy! Isabella is 8 years old, Autumn is 7 years old, Zaden is 4 years old and Jet is 1! Brian loves the outdoors and sports. During the winter months, you’ll find him hunting, and during the summer months, you’ll find him fishing! Brian’s hope is that He lives a life worthy of the calling of our Savior, as he seeks to worship Jesus and allow students to see Jesus in his life.

Joan Teel - Secretary
Joan is a native of Clanton and came to know Christ as a teenager. Joan began her tenure as New Life Secretary in 2006, which began as a one day a week position, but has now grown into a full time, weekly, job.

Through serving on the staff team, God has taught Joan many things, such as, the real meaning of a church family and the blessing of reaching out to those in need. Joan enjoys volunteering in the New Life nursery and also spends time with our teenagers during their weekly Ignite service.

Joan has been married 27 years to Ashley and has 3 children, Cameron, Blake, and Justin Veazey. Joan enjoys spending time with her family, and watching her boys play baseball and softball.
